Best Posts Last Week: Q1 Promotions, Best Bank Bonuses & $15 Off $60+ On Amazon

Sorry this recap post is a little bit later than usual, festive season celebrations got in the way. If you haven’t already, make sure you activate the Q1 5% categories – we’ve also got some spending tips for you. While you are at it, register for the Q1 hotel promotions as well. Chuck has a good walk through of opening a new Schwab brokerage, checking & Platinum card before the years end. Good news for active duty military members, Citi is now waiving annual fees on credit cards opened after entering active. Chase has two targeted increased bonuses, there is a 60,000 offer on the Sapphire Preferred & 30,000 points on the Chase Freedom Unlimited.

We’ve updated our best bank bonus page for December. We also added quite a few good new bonuses to the site last week. The Discover savings $150/$200 bonus has been extended and is available nationwide. Andigo has a $250 bonus for those in IL & Lakeland Bank has a $200 Amazon checking bonus. Cincinnati Federal has a $250 checking bonus for those in OH and Ally has a $200 nationwide investment bonus.

Some Chase cardholders can get $15 off $60+ on Amazon when using a single Chase UR point. Citi has a similar deal for 30% off select categories when using 1 Citi TYP point. You can get $10 in Curb taxi app credits and another $5 for new users. Uber has $10 off for select cities and it works for existing users. Groupon has a $20 stockpile gift card for $8, can’ be redeemed for a $20 target gift card.
