Best Posts Last Week: 5% Categories, $5,100 In New Bank Bonuses & Free $10 From Square Cash

Another big week to review, to start with if you haven’t already then go and activate all of your 5% quarterly categories. Some people were also targeted for 5% on Amazon from Discover as well and VantageWest has a new 5% card some people might be interested in. Citi has pulled all the applied links for their Hilton cards and as they are losing that portfolio at the start of next year I doubt you’ll be able to apply again. In better news it looks like Bank of America is set to enter the premium credit card market at the start of next month.

Chase seems to be freezing some accounts for a financial review, thanks to a guest post we go into this in some depth. There is also a $200 + two free night (category 1-5) bonus on the Chase Marriott Personal Premier. Chase will also be converting to Fairmont cardholders to Chase Sapphire Preferred on August 15th.

Last week we added a massive $5,100 in new bank account bonuses to the site. All of them can be viewed below but some that stand out are $400 from Capital One (YMMV but lots of people having success) and a $300 checking & $100 savings bonus from First Tennessee (restricted to Middle Tennessee and North Carolina).

JetBlue is offering a 15% rebate on awards, you can get a free Amazon Dash Wand after $20 shopping credit You can get a quick $10 from Square Cash by sending your first payment of $5 or more when you use a referral link. There was a lot of negative changes made to some popular manufactured spending methods (see below) but at least the OfficeMax/Depot 2% on everything program will be launching at the start of next month.
