Best Posts Last Week: New Bank of America Rule, Prestige Changes & More

I hope everybody has had a good start to 2019, it’s been a busy week for us on the blog. Citi announced they would be introducing a new Rewards+ credit card on January 10th. Citi Prestige changes are also in effect, but it won’t be available to new sign ups until later this month. There are also a number of sign up bonuses ending soon, on January 9th the American Express gold card, Chase Hyatt & Chase Southwest bonuses will all be lowered. On January 30th the Bank of america 75,000 mile Virgin Atlantic offer will also end. Unfortunately Bank of America has also introduced a new 24 month churning rule.

It was a very busy week for new bank account bonuses. We added nationwide bonuses of: $250 from Wells Fargo, $150 from Unify, up to $750 from HSBC, $100 from Bank of America, $300 from PNC & up to $600 from Citi. We also added some useful regional bank bonuses that can be viewed below. In addition we updated our high yield savings account page. One account worth considering is the 4% APY rewards checking on balances up to $30,000 from Orion, no direct deposit is required either.

In terms of deals it was another good week, Amazon is offering 15% off and a free welcome box when you create an Amazon baby registry. You can get 40 o.b. original super tampons for free. American Express has a number of good sync offers, 10% back at staples, 10% back at Lowe’s, 10% back at Boxed and 10% back at Dell.com. There is also a money making deal for meal prep service Gobble from Swagbucks/MyPoints.

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter, get instant notifications or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).

No words: Mastercard to drop its name from logo

-Mastercard is removing the word Mastercard from the pair of interlocking red and yellow circles where it has resided for more than 50 years.
-Mastercard has attempted to rebrand itself in recent years as a “technology company in the global payments industry.”
-The company said Monday that 80 percent of people recognize the Mastercard logo even when its name isn’t present.
