Best Posts Last Week: Q2 5% Categories, New Chase Cards, 100,000 Offers & More

Last week saw Chase launch the new Iberia credit card with a 75,000 point sign up bonus, they also announced they would be launching an Aer Lingus card in spring. Quarter two 5% categories are now available for activation, do it before you forget. We’ve also provided some tips/suggestions on how to increase your spend in those categories. There are two 100,000 point offers still available, you can still get the Chase Ink Preferred with a 100,000 bonus and also the American Express Business Platinum with a 100,000 bonus.

It was another good week for bank account bonuses, Chase is offering a $300 checking & $200 bonus. This time it’s available online and it’s working in states with no branches. Bank of the West has a $150 bonus for those in AZ, CA, CO, ID, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY. NYCB has a $250 bonus for those in AZ, FL, NJ, NY, and OH. Provident Bank has a $200 bonus for those in NJ & PA. Citi wants to launch a national digital bank as well, hopefully that means more sign up bonuses for us.

In the deals world Chase Pay is offering 300 Starbucks stars when you complete a purchase at Starbucks, that’s enough for two free items. American Express cardholders can get $10 back when they spend $50 at Lowe’s, super popular offer as they have third party gift cards. You can subscribe to Barron’s for 8 weeks for $1 and also get up to 1,200 miles. SYWR is again offering $5 per Uber ride you take.

Sadly it’s not all good news with JetBlue informing us that Amazon purchases will no longer earn 3x points on all purchases. Hilton also devalued their program with no notice or oversight. American Express is also cracking down on bank account funding.

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter, get instant notifications or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).
