Best Posts Last Week: U.S. Bank To Launch Two New Cards, Crazy United Change & More

Last week we saw a few increased credit card sign up bonuses, American Express Bonvoy Brilliant is offering 100,000 points, Star Trek card is offering $300, NFCU Flagship is offering $500. We also got the full details of the two new cards U.S. Bank will launch, unfortunately U.S. bank has devalued real time rewards to 1¢ for existing Flexperks members.  The Chase United card will also become a Visa Infinite and have the annual fee increased. American Express updated the terms on the Marriott Brilliant and Hilton Aspire cards to prevent abuse.

Simple Finance is offering a $200/$400 nationwide savings bonus, Discover has extended the $150/$200 savings offer as well. OneAZ has a $500 checking bonus for those in AZ and Bank of the West has a $250 checking bonus for those in AZ, CA, CO, ID, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY. We also saw Western Vista Credit Union launch a 4% APY checking account on balances up to $15,000.

There are a number of profitable Swagbucks deals: SiriusXM (basically free Google nest hub) and TransUnion ($25 money maker). American Airlines has good deals on domestic flights starting from 5,000 miles on way or to London in business class for 87,000 miles round trip. American Express has two offers for insurance payments: 5% on personal cards or 10% on business cards.

A lot of airlines and Amtrak announced they would be waiving change fees: American Airlines, Delta & United on travel book between now and March 31st. United has also made a crazy change to it’s schedule change policy and is applying the new rules retroactively.
