Best Posts Last Week: New Chase 5/24 Bypass Method, R.I.P AmEx Incidental Giftcards & More

Last week had a number of bad news come through, it looks like gift cards will no longer count towards American Express Airline Incidental purchases. American Express has also recently added terms that state gift card purchases are ineligible from earning points and Citi has added similar language for the Citi Double Cash that will be going into effect later this year.

In better news there is a new method to bypass the Chase 5/24 rule. Our best credit card sign up bonus page has also been updated to include new offers such as up to 60,000 miles from Avianca, $100 from the Discover it miles (plus 3% first year) and 25,000 points on the AmEx Everyday card. There is also a targeted offer for 4% back on up to $20,000 in purchases on the Chase Freedom Unlimited card.

It was a good week for bank account bonuses with Bank of America launching a public $300 checking bonus. KeyBank has a $200 bonus that is valid in AK, CO, CT, ID, IN, MA, ME, MI, NY, OH, OR, PA, UT, VT, or WA and there are a lot of other state specific bonuses I’d recommend looking at below.

We saw a number of food delivery promos last week, including 22% off UberEats and $5 off Postmates. Swagbucks is also offering $55 back when you spend $20+ on Schwan’s. Ibotta is offering up to $10 back at Chipotle. We also saw an American Express offer for 500 bonus points when you spend $100+ on your cell phone bill.

There is also an Equifax class action settlement where you can get $125 per affected person. In some personal news we got unbanned from the Amazon affiliate program. Thanks to all the readers who helped! It also looks like anti resort fees is gaining some traction with the Nebraka AG set to sue Hilton over the practice.
