Last week saw Marriott announced changes to the co-branded credit cards with American Express & Chase. We looked at the most frequently asked questions here. Part of that announcement was the fact the AmEx SPG personal & Chase Marriott business cards would no longer be available to new sign ups on February 12th, we looked at whether you should sign up for those cards before they disappear. As a result of this we also found out that the Chase 5/24 rule does NOT apply to the Marriott business card surprisingly.
Chuck did a deep dive on extended warranty protection benefits from all the major card issuers. Swagbucks is also offering $50-$75 per approved application for Capital One cards. American Express is offering some good retention bonuses currently and the 25,000 points + 15 months 0% APR/$0 BT fee offer on the AmEx Everyday card is still going strong.
It was a slower week for bank account bonuses, but we did look at what banks send out 1099s for account bonuses. Wells Fargo has a $500 checking/savings in branch bonus if you live in MT, ND, SD, MN, WI. There was also a number of other state restricted bonuses you can read about below.
Discover is offering $10 off $30 on Amazon when you use a point/cashback. The American Express deal for $30 off $60 is also working a second time if you use a household or business account. Freebird is offering $25 credit for Uber rides as well.
