Best Posts Last Week: Negative Changes To Chase Sapphire Reserve, Two New Chase Cards & More

Big week of news, especially from Chase so let’s get started with some positive news first. All Chase IHG free night certificates issued before May 1st, 2019 will be unrestricted. Chase will also be launching a new Chase Ink Business unlimited card. Chase also launched the new Marriott Premier Plus card, there is a sign up bonus of 100,000 points or two free nights (up to 35,000 points each) + $200 + no annual fee. Existing Premier cardholders can upgrade to the Premier Plus and will get 0-50,000 points for doing so, we looked at whether upgrading makes sense here. There is also a 80,000 point bonus on the CSP as well and a targeted offer of 120,000 points on the Chase Ink Preferred.

It’s not all good news unfortunately, Chase will be making negative changes to the Chase Sapphire Reserve. You will be limited to two guests with priority pass, you’ll no longer earn 3x points on the $300 travel credit and they are also removing price protection. Chase isn’t the only card issuer and there is news from the others. Barclays has increased the sign up bonus on the American Airlines business card to 50,000 miles after one purchase & 40,000 points on the JetBlue business card. American Express is offering targeted bonuses of 20,000 points on the Blue Business Plus and 45,000 miles + $100 statement credit on the Delta Platinum without the lifetime language.

We added some new bank account bonus offers as well, Denizen is offering a $100 bonus and the account actually looks useful as well. Memory Bank is still offering $100 nationwide and the account earns 1.6% without any hurdles. SunTrust extended it’s popular $500 bonus for those in AL, AR, FL, GA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, WV, VA, and D.C Only. Flagstar Bank also has a $250 bonus that doesn’t require a direct deposit for those in MI and FirstBank has a $300 bonus without a direct deposit for those in CA, AZ & CO.

Plenty of good deals were added last week (full list below) but some of the better one includes $30 off $60+ at Amazon and you can get a further $10 amazon credit by signing up for Audible (new & existing users). Google Express is offering 20% off for new & existing users. IHG PointsBreak list has been released and is now bookable, hotels starting at 5,000 points per night. We did a full review of Sinemia (MoviePass competitor) and there is a good amex offer giving $35 back when spending $300+ on Hilton hotels.

It will also be a good week for manufactured spending with Staples offering no purchase fees on $200 Visa gift cards and Office Depot/Max offering an $15 instant discount on $300 ‘everywhere’ Visa gift cards. If you want to support the site there is a new way to do so here. We also added a new password protected posted.
