Best Posts Last Week: Citi Prestige Changes, New Amazon Business Card & More

Big news out of last week is that Citi will be making major changes to the Prestige card. Annual fee will be increased to $495, fourth night free benefit will be restricted to two uses per year and the card will earn 5x points on dining and air purchases. We answered some of the more frequently asked questions here. American Express finally launched the Amazon business card. American Express referral links are also now showing incognito mode offers as well (including 75,000 on the personal platinum). Last piece of important American Express news is that some people are receiving targeted mailers for the Gold card with no lifetime language and 50,000 point bonus.

We also see the Avianca 60,000 miles after one purchase offer return. The sign up bonus on the Hawaiian business card was also increased to 60,000 miles but it now requires $1,000 in spend rather than just a single purchase. We also saw massive spending bonuses on American Express Hilton cards and Chuck looked at how long you need to keep your upgraded American Express card to satisfy the RAT team.

It was a slower week for bank account bonuses. We found out that Bank of America plans to aggressively compete with Chase in markets Chase is expanding into. There is also a $300 bonus for some people in MD from APGFCU and a $250 bonus from Marine Bank for those in IN, IL, WI. Full list of all the bonuses we added can be viewed below.

There are a number of boxed deals you can currently stack with the AmEx offer of $25 back on $75 in spend. BJ’s wholesale club is currently offering everybody free membership until November 4th, useful considering Discover it & Chase Freedom are 5% at Wholesale Clubs this quarter. Some American Express cardholders are being targeted for a free trial of Amazon Fresh + $30 off your first order (with either no minimum spend or a $50 minimum spend requirement).
