It was a slow week for credit cards and most of it was unfortunately bad news. American Airlines gift cards seem to not currently be triggering AmEx airline credits. Chase sent out forced product conversion notices to some ‘government entity clients’, even though they aren’t government entities. In better news we looked at how to get 1.3¢ per point in value from the City National Bank Visa Infinite card and also how the new WeWork benefit works on the Business Platinum card.
It was another good week for bank account bonuses, we updated the best bonuses for February. A number of $300 bonuses became available, for example: Summit Federal for those in NY, Home State Bank for those in IL and Penn Community Bank offering business clients in PA $300 as well. We also added a number of new high interest accounts to our best list.
The biggest news of the week was that Ebates has partnered with American Express allowing you to convert 1¢ in Ebates credit to one membership rewards point. This also makes the Ebates card more valuable. Burger King is offering new app users a SourDough king sandwich for $0.01. You can get a $10 free Tangers outlets gift card and 250 Starbucks stars from a 60 day free trial of Spotify. There is also a coupon for $7 off $7 at Kmart. Full list of deals can be viewed below.

Just wanted to mention that Ebates is offering 15 (!) percent back on Dell today. If you manage(d) to sign up to earn MR instead of cash, that’s 15X MR. They’re also having a good sale for Presidents Day with extra doorbusters today.
If you have the BoA CR card and have chosen the Online category, and you value MR at 1.6 cpp, that’s effectively 27% back on already-reduced prices.
