Best Posts Last Week: Amazon Prime Day Now Live, AmEx Self Refer Clawback & More

First of all, Amazon Prime day is now live. Chuck & I will be live blogging all the latest deals as they come out, I’d recommend going over to our dedicated Prime day post for more information and a good round up of all the deals currently available. For example there is a new Chase UR deal where you can get $15 off $60, American Express is offering some cardholders 3 months of prime for free and we have a guide on how to get targeted for various credit card Prime deals.

The big news last week was that American Express is clawing back referral bonuses for ‘self refer’ usage. After reports of that started coming in American Express also launched a 100,000 point referral offer on the Business Platinum card but it requires a massive $25,000 in spend. American Express also targeted more people for the Delta no lifetime language offers & the 100k personal Platinum offer. Chase is also targeting more people for selected for you offers and these bypass the 5/24 rule.

It was a slower week for bank account bonuses, but M&T, BMO Harris & BB&T all have state specific bonuses that are worth considering. A lot of banks also changed savings interest rates, so our best high yield savings account page has now been fully updated.

Most deals were related to Amazon Prime day, but Swagbucks is offering new postmates users $28.56 for completing their first order. Dosh is offering some users 5% back in store at Sam’s Club. American Express also has amex offers for spend $75, get $10 back on online department stores and spend $25, get $5 back on office supply stores.

Two things I hate are data breaches and resort fees and we got good news on both fronts. The Washington, D.C. attorney general is suing Marriott over resort fees. Both Marriott & British Airways are being fined for data breaches as well ($123 million for Marriott and $230 million for British Airways).

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter, get instant notifications or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).
