Best Posts Last Week: Chase Rumors, New Best Savings Rate (2.75%) & More

Last week we saw two Chase rumors, the first is that the Chase Sapphire Preferred will have the bonus changed from 50,000 points with the annual fee waived to 60,000 points without the annual fee waived. The second rumor is that the Chase Freedom Unlimited will change to a sign up bonus of 3% back for the first year (likely with a cap in place). We also saw an increased bonus on the Chase Hyatt and Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card.

It wasn’t all Chase though, with Barclays offering an increase bonus of 60,000 miles on the Business Aviator card. More people were targeted for the American Express 10,000 pay over time bonus. We also found out that the Synchrony Cathay Pacific card is churnable. Citi is offering a 25% transfer bonus to Qantas. American Express has a 30% transfer bonus to Cathay Pacific as well.

It was another good week for bank account bonuses. Discover, U.S. Bank and Marcus are all offering nationwide bonuses that are all worth considering if you haven’t completed them already and there was a huge number of state specific bonuses worth doing as well (full list below). We also got a new basic savings account rate leader with Grow Financial now offering 2.75% APY.

There was a number of telecommunication deals with the Sprint free unlimited plan for one year deal extended, American Epxress offering 10% off online cellular payments and Chase/Bank of America offering $40 back when spending at AT&T wireless. We also got word that Starbucks will be making changes to redeeming stars as part of the Starbucks loyalty program. Southwest also finally launched Hawaii flights, with the best deals ($49 one way) selling out in a few hours.

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter, get instant notifications or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).
